A new environment can affect an acoustic piano

Temperature and humidity changes affect wood and other acoustic components and can influence pitch and touch. Discuss the destination environment with a qualified technician.

No universal waiting period

A fixed two-week or four-week rule does not apply to every instrument and home. Discuss model, condition and environment with the technician who will service it.

Different technical services

Tuning adjusts string pitch. Regulation concerns mechanical performance. Voicing concerns tone. A move does not automatically include any of these services.

Observe, do not repair

Discuss stable placement away from sunlight and extremes. Describe changes in condition or operation to an appropriate professional rather than attempting internal work.

Electronic instruments are different

Digital pianos do not have acoustic strings to tune in the same way. Follow model-specific guidance for placement and accessories.

Questions worth asking

Know more.
Assume less.

What if I do not know the piano type?

Share the manufacturer, model and a description or photograph if available. Do not open the cabinet, guess a weight or remove parts to identify it.

Can a piano be moved on stairs?

Stairs require an individual assessment. Describe steps, flights, turns, landings and access at both ends before a move is confirmed.

Does a request confirm a booking?

No. A request begins a discussion of the instrument, route, access and timing. The scope and booking are confirmed separately.
